Earlier today I tweeted about the difficulty in casting the Muppets in an adaptation of the Iliad, because it is my adamant belief as a student of Classical mythology and an even greater fan of the Muppets, that Hector would be the only possible role for Kermit the Frog, and no one wants to see him die. I know… the really important stuff!
I think more generally the Iliad is not suited for an adaptation simply because death and violence is at the heart of it, and making that light-hearted would really take too much away from the story. However… the Odyssey would make a brilliant adaptation for the following reasons!
